Hi I am Emma

The artist and designer behind Blackbird House Designs. It is just me, I wear all the hats of a small business owner, I definitely love what I do, all my days are different as I am learning constantly so many new skills. I do webinars and trainings, meet and talk to new people and google so much! as although I went to art school I am teaching myself new skills, business, marketing and finance every day!

Since studying Textile Art at Edinburgh College of Art my work has developed into printmaking and illustration forming a trademark style of simple, stylish colourful artworks that are designed to look bold and beautiful.

All my designs start as drawings or screen prints that become simplified as paper cut-outs which then create stencils to be screen printed. These images are then scanned and finished using various digital programs.
