Emma Evans-Freke

All my screen prints start with drawings. Lots of drawings. I have drawn since a tiny child. I was brought up in a creative house with paper and pens freely available, no TV, lots of animals and lots of time to potter, look and draw. I remember drawing houses obsessively, over and over again. Then birds.  Line has always been important to me. A loose line, used sparingly. I love the drawings of John Piper, Henry Moore, Paul Nash, Edward Bawden, Picasso and Matisse and the composition of Medieval art.
